MORNING
STAR PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
"When You're
Ready--We're Here"
About Morning Star
Life these days can be confusing and stressful.
Changes are happening at a dizzying rate. We feel pulled in many directions,
by our family, our work, and by our own needs.
Often we are left wondering, "What's the meaning
of all this? Where can I find something that's lasting -- someplace where
I can find a firm foundation for me and my family?" Morning Star
Presbyterian Church is a congregation structured to fit the
lifestyles of this century's individuals and families.
At Morning Star we believe that God wants to meet us right where we are, and that with God in our life, we can meet the special challenges that face us. Our goal is to provide a safe and non threatening environment for folks to ask questions, study the Bible, find support and grow spiritually. If you're looking for a church home, we invite you to join us!
Who are we?
We are a group of ordinary people who have embarked on an extraordinary adventure. It's a journey that requires faith, risk and commitment. It's also a journey that is giving shape and purpose and direction to our life. It has given us hope in tough times and strength when we are weak. And it has given us each other—a community of caring, supportive friends. We are learning to laugh together, cry together, and encourage each other as we walk the same journey side by side.
Where are we headed?
Our motto says that we are “charting a course for new life in Jesus Christ.” If you are looking for a church home, we invite you to join us at Morning Star. We began the journey as a new church development in 1994, and were chartered as a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) on March 23, 1997. Our style is relaxed. Kids are always welcome. You don't have to dress up. We will welcome you with a cup of coffee and goodies to eat.
About the name, Morning Star:
In the Bible (Revelation 22:16), Jesus Christ is called the “bright morning star.” We like the brightness and contemporary sound of the name, and most of all, the connection the name has with Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
Sailors are quite aware that the star in the sky called the “morning star” is an important key to navigation. This ties in well with the thought that Jesus is the Morning Star, because we look to him for direction in our lives.
So, at Morning Star Presbyterian Church, we say that we are “charting
a course for new life in Jesus Christ.”
